What gauge do I need?
Gauge numbers work backwards. The higher the number, the thinner the jewelry.
18 gauge- used for hollow needle piercings in the lobes
16 gauge- used most commonly with hollow needle cartilage piercings, like helix, conch, flat
How do I insert flat back earrings?
Always start with clean hands!
Without an insert tool
1. Gently guide the hollow post through your piercing from back to front.
2. Once the post is through your piercing, slide the push pin top into the hollow opening of the post. You should hear a soft click or resistance.
With an insert tool
1. With the tool's thin point facing your ear, gently insert the tool through your piercing from front to back
2. Push the hollow opening of the back post onto the thin point of the insert tool. You will need to hold it in place.
3. Gently push to guide the back post through your piercing from back to front.
4. Take out the insert tool and push the push pin top into the hollow opening of the back post. You should hear a click or soft resistance.
How do I tighten the earrings?
It is normal for the pin to straighten over time!
1. Insert the front pin 1/3 to halfway into the back post
2. While holding the back, gently make a slight bend in the pin
3. Insert the pin fully into the backing. If you need a tighter fit, repeat steps 1 and 2 and increase the degree of the bend.
